Document Imaging Products
The document imaging programs were originally developed to allow branch offices to import or scan in documents into a central offsite datastore.
This concept has been expanded to allow branch offices to have their own local database and then later upload to the central office database while maintaining branch office identifiers for the project documents.
OCR capabilities are available to automatically index documents as they are imported to break the document packages into appropriate document types.
All images are stored with a database table. Each image can be assigned document type information either by manual assignment or automatically using optical character recognition to determine document type based on a master document table which has document keyword associations.
Document images can be absorbed into the system through an auto import process where by documents may be scanned to a central directory in the building and then later imported automatically on a timed basis. During the import, the document package identification can be determined by using a preprinted cover sheet with barcodes or a word processor created cover sheet with a specific letter pattern to allow optical character determination.
